Jay Symcox’s 25-year track record encompasses all aspects of real estate development, marketing and construction management. He has participated in Award Winning and leading edge developments. Primary focus has been in-fill medium– and high-density housing, with experience in office, retail and industrial projects, as well as major land developments, ranging in size from $1 million to $250 million.

Jay has a distinguished record of accomplishment in real estate development and marketing that dates back to 1984. This experience includes management for a large, entrepreneurial West Coast developer that was involved in retail, office, and industrial projects. Many of these projects were located within the Irvine Company, the Mission Viejo Company and the Santa Margarita Company—large, integrated master-planned communities that are widely accepted as the leading edge for the next generation of livable development. During this tenure Jay Symcox gained a progressive knowledge of site planning, marketing and master community development on a scale that is uncommon among Austin-area builders and developers.

Jay Symcox has shown his market leading capabilities by being the 1st developer in the state after the economic downturn of the 1980s’s to have a new townhome project approved by FHA in 1994 (Brigadoon Townhomes). He began developing along the South Lamar corridor in Austin in 1996 (2300 South Lamar, Sola City Homes and 2602 Del Curto) as well as South Congress in 1999 (SOCO Lofts). Having the knowledge and creativity for creating developments that fit the surrounding areas with compatible architecture and complimentary uses Symcox Development has created national award winning communities.
